About the Club

We are a small village club that aims to provide facilities to play tennis both competitively and socially. The courts are located at the Recreation Ground, off the High Street in Cheddington. We have 2 all-weather courts, which are both floodlit. The pavilion is used as our clubhouse. The club is fully affiliated to the Lawn Tennis Association and we have approximately 100 members, 50 adult & 50 junior (under 16)
As a general rule, members are welcome to play at all times up to 10pm apart from when there are pre-booked sessions, such as, league matches, coaching, junior sessions & tournaments.

Committee

The Club has a committee of 10 members which meets 6 times a year, in addition to the AGM, and is responsible for all aspects of the running of the club. All members are eligible to stand for the committee.

Coaching

A part-time qualified coach offers tennis coaching to both juniors and adults members. Junior coaching sessions are held on Saturday mornings during term time, whilst adult sessions are organized on a more ad-hoc basis.

Club Nights

Specific times are set aside each week for general club sessions where any member can come down and play. Adult club nights run throughout the year and are typically on a Tuesday and Thursday (April to Sept only) from 7pm. Junior sessions are also held during term time between April and September after School.

Social Activities

There is a social program that aims to encourage members to get to know one another better. This includes such activities as BBQ’s, quiz nights, pub nights, a Xmas meal and friendly tournaments. In addition the Club secures a supply of tickets for Wimbledon and the Davis Cup matches.

Club Tournaments

Every year club tournaments are held (both singles and doubles) that are open to all members.

League Tennis

Throughout the year the club runs 6 doubles teams – 2 ladies, 2 mens & 2 mixed – in the local Aylesbury & District League. In addition we also run a juniors section.
